Guest Artist Workshops
Milonga Gitanos
Every month, Albany Tango hosts guest artist workshops with tango luminaries ​followed by Milonga Gitanos, a Argentine Tango dance social open to the public.
This event is normally held on the 2nd Saturday of every month. (November may be 3rd Saturday.)

Fernanda Ghi is coming to the Capital Region with extraordinary instruction, insights and assistance. Join her for afternoon workshops and our evening Milonga Gitanos.
Afternoon Workshops
Fernanda Ghi invites you to a tango intensive to introduce you to a new way to think about tango and. a new way to train. Fernanda is the consumate instructer, steeped in experience training tango dancers of all levels. Her insights to training can help you overcome limits and set you on a course to incredible changes.
Milonga Gitanos
Fernanda Ghi will DJ for Albany Tango’s 2nd Saturday milonga, Milonga Gitanos. Tango with us, join our community and enjoy the opportunity to connect with the best tango performers and instructors.
WORKSHOPS
12:00-1:15 Organizing the Body: Foundations of Movement
• Understanding body alignment to organize the mechanics of movement.
• From walking to any tango vocabulary.
• Importance of the center and its connection with the legs and feet.
1:30-2:45 Organizing the Embrace: Foundations for Communication
• The importance of the arms and how they relate to the rest of the body
• How upper-body organization influences connection and technique
3:00-4:15 Milonga: Foundations for Depth and Detail
• Learn three styles of milonga: amague, traspie, lisa
• Understand the mechanics specific to each form
• Organize the body to express the music

7:00 Tango Basics, steps and skills for All levels
8:00 Tango Beyond Basics, steps and skills, intermediate-Advanced level
